Susan Taylor

Susan Taylor, 51, went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Sunday, February 14, 2010, at the Hospice of the Valley, Phoenix, AZ, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 31, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Milo and Gloria Derrow, she lived most of her life in the Ellwood City area and then moved to Batavia, NY, then to Phoenix, AZ. Survivors include her two sons, Benjamin Taylor and Samuel Taylor, and a daughter, Gloria Taylor, all of the Phoenix area.

Also surviving are three sisters and brothers-in-law, Georgia and Ronald Fife, Vallie and Charles George, M.E. (Betty) and Stephen Shafran; a brother, Milo Derrow Jr. and his wife, Diane, and seven nieces and nephews, Karen Jeanette, Beth Ann Nye, Jeff Fife, Stacey Speer, Kirk Derrow, Cheri Johnston and Emily Prestopine.

She attended Lincoln High School and graduated from Lawrence County Vo Tech in 1976. While living in Ellwood City, she was a member of the First Church of God. While there she was instrumental in starting the North Hills Church of God.

After moving to Batavia, NY, Susan became very active in community initiatives and projects, serving as the President of the Jackson Home School Association. She was a member of Citizens for a Better Batavia. In Phoenix, AZ, Susan found passion with Reality Executives International working in their legal department. Susan took pleasure in serving on various social and community organizations in the Phoenix Metro.

A memorial service will be held at the First Church of God, Mercer Road, Ellwood City, on April 27th at 1 p.m. Pastor Phil Conklin will conduct the service. A luncheon will follow the service at the church.

Local arrangements were made by the Turner Funeral Home, Sixth Street, Ellwood City.
