Marie Domenica Nocera Ialongo, 81, of 101 Madison Avenue, Ellwood City, passed peacefully away into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, Sept. 12 2010 surrounded by her family at Rhodes Estates in New Castle.
Marie was born in Ellwood City on June 17 1929 to the late Pasquale and Madelena Colella Nocera.
She was a longtime active member of the Ellwood City Christian Assembly Church, and its Womens Fellowship.
Marie enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, flower gardening and travel. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and was a compassionate care-giver.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 64 years, Glaudino “Claude” Ialongo. They were married on August 17 1946.
Also surviving are two sons and two daughters: Victor (and Janice) Ialongo; David (Lydia) Ialongo; and Claudia Ialongo, all of Ellwood City; and Patrice (and Craig) Luchansky of Allison Park PA.
Six grandchildren also survive: Cara (and Ben) Huth; Marisa (and Steve) Mandel; Sara (and Kevin) Huber; Matthew (and Anna) Luchansky; and Nicole Luchansky; as well as five great grandchildren.
She is also survived by three sisters: Diana Massaro, Rose (and Dom) Massaro, and Ida (and Norman) Flout, all of New Castle.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday, Sept. 15 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME OF ELLWOOD CITY, Sixth Street at Park Avenue, Ellwood City.
Additional visitation will be on Thursday Sept. 16 from 10-11 A.M. followed by a Celebration of Life Service in the Ellwood City Chapel of TURNERS at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Matthew Bupp, pastor of Ellwood City Christian Assembly Church, officiating, assisted by Rev. Geno DeMarco, of the New Brighton Christian Assembly Church.
