Earl E. Donley

Earl E. Donley, 84, of Chapel Drive, Ellwood City (North Sewickley Township), passed away on Saturday afternoon, September 25, 2010 at his residence.

He was born in Butler, PA on July 15, 1926 to the late Herbert Donley, Sr. and the late Susie Dillon.

He married his late wife, Christina V. Nelle Donley on his twenty-second birthday in 1948. She preceded him in death on May 10, 2003.

Earl served as a Constable in Marion Township, a police officer in Franklin Township, and later worked for the Western Pennsylvania Water Company (PAWC). He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman and was a member of Harmony Sportsman’s Club.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Martin Donley on March 9, 1994. He was also preceded by two brothers and a sister: Herbert “Gene” Donley, Jr., LeRoy Donley, and Shirley Dean.

He is survived by a son, LeRoy E. (and Sandra) Donley of Addison, NY; and a daughter, Karen (and David) Newton, of Ellwood City. Four grandchildren also survive: David Newton, Jr. of Ellwood City, John (and Kara) Newton of Newport News, VA, Chad (and Kelly) Donley, and Lee (and Michele) Donley all of Addison, NY. Six great grandchildren as well as two brothers and two sisters: Robert (and Hilda) Donley, Edward (and Charlene) Donley, and Goldie Rugh, all of Ellwood City, and Linda Gordon of St. Petersburg, FL also survive.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.

Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at TURNER’S with Rev. Don Hurray of Mountville Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in Lillyville Church of God Cemetery, Franklin Township.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Earl’s name, to the American Cancer Society.
