Lorena M. Singloub

Lorena M. Singloub, 66, of New Castle, formerly of Chewton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday evening, January 1, 2011 in the Good Samaritan Hospice of Concordia in Cabot, PA.

She was born in Franklin Township, PA on August 6, 1944 to the late William Crowl and the late Delores Cunning Crowl. Lorena was a graduate of Riverside High School and worked as an assembler at Leeds and Northrop, and most recently as a security guard at Inmetco.

She married her loving husband of over 31 years, Earl L. Singloub, in 1979; he survives her.

Lorena had a love for crocheting and baking and greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was a member of the Tops exercise group in New Castle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Wilson in infancy, and two brothers: William and Raymond “Buck” Crowl.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four daughters: Tina Wilson of Ellwood City, Doris (and Jeffrey) Davis of Anchorage, AK, Linda (and Derek) Adams of New Castle, and Tiffannie (and Michael) Widmaier of Ellwood City, as well as ten grandchildren.

She is also survived by two brothers and four sisters: Dennis (and Kathy) Crowl of Enon Valley, David (and Darla) Crowl of New Castle, Virginia McQuiston and Melva (and Teek) Nagel all of Ellwood City, and Linda (and Toot) Newton and Shirley (and Chuck) Cox, all of Beaver Falls.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 and from 12:30 P.M. until the time of service at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue, with Rev. Dr. James Durlesser of the First United Methodist Church of Ellwood City officiating.

Interment will follow in Mountville Cemetery, Perry Township.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Lorena’s name, to the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.
