E. Marie Hutchinson

E. Marie Hutchinson, 89, of Ninth Street, Ellwood City, passed away peacefully in the Ellwood City Hospital on Saturday morning, February 19, 2011, following a three month illness.

She was born in Ellwood City on August 6, 1921 to the late Van E. Kashner and the late Pearl Kirker Kashner.

Marie was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Ellwood City and was an active member of Wurtemburg Presbyterian Church where she was the first woman elder. She also served as a deacon, taught Sunday School, and was a member of the Women’s Circle. She had also been a Girl Scout leader.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William L. Hutchinson, who passed away August 3, 1990.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter, Randall K. Hutchinson of Ellwood City, Brenda Hutchinson of North Sewickley Township, and W. Daniel (and Corine) Hutchinson of Kokomo, IN. One granddaughter, Charity Lynn (and Sean) Conway, and four great grandchildren, Alison Goebel, and Tyler, Bryce, and Cadance Conway, also survive, in addition to several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.

Friends may also call from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Wurtemburg Presbyterian Church, 291 Wurtemburg Road, Ellwood City, with Rev. Dr. Daniel Stinson, her pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. Fr. Kim Schreck of Christ the Divine Teacher Church.

Interment will follow in Wurtemburg Cemetery, Perry Township.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Marie’s name, to the Wurtemburg Presbyterian Church.
