Anna Mildred "Millie" Howell

Anna Mildred “Millie” Howell, 84, of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully, on Friday morning, April 22 2011 at the Concordia Rebecca Residences near Allison Park PA.

She was born in Pittsburgh (West View) on July 29, 1926 to the late Joseph and Anna Manchor. She graduated from St. Benedict’s High School in West View and worked in the circulation department of the Ellwood City Ledger and later worked in the housekeeping department of the Ellwood City Hospital. She enjoyed bowling, gardening and flowers, and was a member of the Hi-Bidders “500” Club and Silver Sneakers at the Bell Community Center.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Charles I. Howell, on February 15, 1976, and by a brother and two sisters: Paul Manchor, Cecelia Milano, and Olga Davis.

She is survived by three daughters: Grace Anna (and Richard) Boggs of Stoneboro, PA; Denise Howell-Longello of North Sewickley Township, and Darlene Howell of North Huntingdon, PA. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Jonathan D. Boggs, Michael F.C. Longello, and Morgane M.A. Longello; two brothers and two sisters: Dennis Manchor, Joseph Manchor, Carole Peters, and Marie Daniels, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2-4 P.M. on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.

A Memorial Service will follow at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at TURNER’S.

Interment will be in Harmony-Baptist Cemetery, Slippery Rock Township.
