Kathleen Tomasetti Altsman

Kathleen Tomasetti Altsman, 61, of North Sewickley, passed away peacefully following a lengthy illness on Thursday afternoon, June 9, 2011 at her residence.

She was born in Ellwood City on February 15, 1950 to the late Myre Bruno Tomasetti and the late Blanche Elizabeth Berry Tomasetti. She was a graduate of Riverside High School and was a lifetime member of Holy Redeemer Parish Church. She enjoyed gardening, riding with her husband on their Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and most especially loved shopping.

Kathy is survived her loving husband of 29 years, James Altsman, whom she married January 9, 1982. She is also survived by two step daughters, Connie (and Alan) Stauber of Portersville and Kris Skocich of New Brighton; as well as a step grandson, Michael Bupp. Two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Barb (and Jim) Shumaker of Cranberry Township, Fred (and Lynda) Altsman of Fombell, and Jodi (and Eric) Rall of Brentwood, TN, her mother-in-law Ellen Altsman of Gainesville, FL, several nieces and nephews, and her dearest friend Nada Nonevski of Ellwood City, also survive.

Per Kathy’s wishes, no public visitation is planned. A memorial will be conducted at 10 A.M. on Saturday, June 25, 2011 in the Holy Redeemer Parish Church, 415 Fourth Street, Ellwood City, with Rev. Fr. Louis Pascazi officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.

Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, North Sewickley Township.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Kathy’s name, to the American Cancer Society or to Catholic Hospice, 6200 Brooktree Road #220, Wexford, PA 15090.
