Ruth I. Remaley Hart

Ruth I. Remaley Hart, 88, of 879 Bullion Road, Polk, PA, died on Friday evening, January 8, 2009 at her residence following a six month illness.

She was born on July 23, 1920 in South Beaver Township to the late Walter Roy Remaley and the late Nora Ethel Luke Remaley.

Ruth graduated from Lincoln High School and had worked as a telephone supervisor for the Hecht Co. in Silver Springs, MD. She attended Ellport Community Church, was an avid reader, and enjoyed writing poetry and dancing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Coffman, as well as one brother and three sisters: Nellie Ora Remaley in 1931, Charles A. Remaley in 1950, Hazel E. Remaley in 1951, and Ethel Byers in 2004.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Charles E. Hart, whom she married in 1969, and her daughter, Sandra (and Ernest) Pierson of Shreveport, LA. She is also survived by one brother and four sisters: Everett G. (and Klara) Remaley of Sciota, PA, Elsie Deiderick of Beaver Falls, Beulah Ralph of Orange Park, FL, Edna (and Carl) Hockenberry of Ellwood City, and Geraldine (and Joel) Langnecker of Chippewa Twp. Two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.

Friends will be received from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 noon on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.

Services will follow at noon on Wednesday at TURNER’S with Rev. Dr. Carmen Venezie, pastor of Ellport Community Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in Wurtemburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Ruth’s name, to the American Cancer Society or the Visiting Nurses Association of Venango County.
