Juanita J. Martin

Juanita J. Martin, 84, of Ber-Nita Acres, Bennett Drive, Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 20, 2011.

She was born in Spencer, SD on June 17, 1927 to the late Henry Vinz and late Freda Meuler Vinz

Juanita was a farmer and bed and breakfast owner as well as a Penn State Master Gardener. She enjoyed a career as a real estate agent for over 30 years. She was always involved in community activities. She was a member of Beaver Falls Garden Club and Ellwood City Chamber of Commerce.
She had been a Girl Scout and 4-H leader. She was a prayer partner for Cornerstone Ministries and attended Northway Christian Community and First Christian Church of Ellwood City. Interested in life-long learning, Juanita attended classes at the Community College of Beaver County, Penn State University, and Robert Morris University.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bernard K. Martin and her second husband, James A. Eriser, and her daughter, Kay Richmond.

She is survived by ten of her children: Sandra Dakota of San Rafael, CA, Bernie (and Jenny) Martin of Ainsworth, NE, Ken (and Kim) Martin of Shinglehouse, PA, Jeff (and Lynn) Martin of Pittsburgh, PA, Mark (and Beth) Martin of Georgetown, PA, Tammy (and Jeff) Wolfgong of Gibsonia, PA, Dr. Valerie (and Jack) Nelson of Pittsburgh, PA, Laura Gazda of North Sewickley Township, PA, Keith (and Pauli) Martin of Russell, PA and Eric (and Lisa) Martin of Ellwood City, PA.

In addition, she is survived by 22 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 9 of her brothers and sisters: Vivian Tilley, Joyce Tellijohn, and David Vinz, all of MN; Warren Vinz, Linda Sieverding, Duane Vinz, Betty Schoon and Celeste Mokros all of SD and Bryan Vinz of CO.

Friends will be received from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Friday, August 26, 2011 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME, 500 Sixth Street, Ellwood City.

Services will be conducted at 11 AM on Saturday, August 27 at the Ellwood City Christian Church, 110 Ada Drive. Private burial will be at Ber-Nita Acres.
