Kenneth L. Marshall

Kenneth L. Marshall, 97, of Orchard Avenue, Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, February 4, 2012, in the Ellwood City Hospital.

He was born in Ellwood City on July 12, 1914 to the late Earl C. Marshall and the late Elizabeth Barkley Marshall. He was a devoted member of Bell Memorial Presbyterian Church, where he attended the Men’s Bible Class and was a former trustee, assistant treasurer, and choir member. He retired in 1975 after working 41 years as a pattern maker and layout man in the machine shop at the former Aetna Standard Engineering Company in Ellwood City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha I. Bieber Marshall, to whom he was married for 50 years and who passed away September 14, 1998. He was also preceded by two sisters and a brother, Gladys Gallaher, Velma Hauserman, and Dean W. Marshall, as well as his son-in-law, Robert Bowers, and grandson, Joshua Bowers.

He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Bowers of Ellwood City. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Kathleen “Casey” (and Stacey) Schlenker of Bowling Green, OH, and two great grandchildren, Kaiden and Grayson Schlenker. His brother, Ralph L. Marshall of Ellwood City, also survives, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue, with Rev. Derek Longbrake, his pastor, officiating. Visitation will be closed casket, per his wishes.

Entombment will follow in Zelienople Community Mausoleum.
