Harold R. "Bud" McWithey

Harold R. “Bud” McWithey, 94, of Alameda, CA, formerly of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, April 3, 2012 at his residence in Alameda.

He was born in Zelienople on November 28, 1917 to the late Alfred McWithey and the late Harriet Howell McWithey. Bud was a graduate of Zelienople High School and was a member of Lillyville Church of God. He married his late wife, Mary L. Richards McWithey, on June 21, 1940. She preceded him in death on January 15, 2004. He worked as a shop foreman at Tru-Flo Fan and Robinson Ventilating in Harmony for 45 years.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Kevin McWithey, on May 14, 2000.

He is survived by his daughter, Paula Nunes, of Alameda, CA, with whom he lived, and his son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Diane McWithey, of Vancouver, WA. Four grandchildren, Courtnie Pattison and Jeremy of Pennsylvania, and Maggie and Benjamin McWithey of Washington state, and three great grandchildren, Kyler McWithey, Shane Magnifico, and Lauren Mae Pattison also survive, as well as his brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Shirley McWithey, of Zelienople.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Monday, April 9, 2012 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.

Services will be conducted at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at TURNER’S with Rev. Dennis Arndt, of Lillyville Church of God, officiating.

Interment will follow in Lillyville Church of God Cemetery in Franklin Township.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Bud’s name, to the Lillyville Church of God Building Fund, 408 Hickernell Road, Ellwood City, PA 16117.
