Kenneth R. Hockenberry, Jr.

Kenneth Robert Hockenberry, Jr., 64, of Fairmont, WV, went home to be with the God he loved and served on Sunday afternoon, May 27, 2012 in the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, NY surrounded by his loving family.

Ken was born in Ellwood City, PA on September 10, 1947 to the late Rev. Kenneth R. Hockenberry, Sr., who died August 2, 2005 and the late Mary Magee Hockenberry, who died October 14, 2010.

Ken graduated from Roberts Wesleyan College in North Chili, NY in 1969 with a B.A. in Comprehensive Social Studies and married his college sweetheart, Marcia Neumann Hockenberry, on June 21, 1969. He worked several years as a pharmaceutical representative for Sandoz, then was self-employed as a salesman for various gift lines for 20 years. He has been with Teletech as a manager since 1997, starting at Niagara Falls, NY and transferring to Morgantown, WV in 2001. Ken was an active member of South Ridge Church in Fairmont, WV, where he co-led a small group, was on the counting and financial teams, and the Family Ministry Sunday team. He enjoyed sports, especially golf.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Jason Hockenberry.

In addition to his wife, Marcia, he is survived by his son, Aaron Michael Hockenberry (and Pennie) and his four beloved grandchildren, Jonathan, Angelo, Katherine, and Aaron, Jr., all of Cleveland, OH. He is also survived by four brothers: Rev. Daniel G. (and Shelley) Hockenberry and Douglas M. (and Ronda) Hockenberry, all of New Castle, PA, Timothy L. (and Kathleen) Hockenberry of Sharon, PA, and Charles L. (and Louise) Hockenberry of Mercer, PA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends will be received from 12 noon until the time of service at 2 P.M. on Saturday, June 2, 2012 in the Harmony Baptist Church, 4103 Ellwood Road, New Castle, PA 16101, with Rev. Seth Broadhurst, his pastor, officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue. Interment will follow in Wurtemburg Cemetery, Wayne Township.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Ken’s name, to the South Ridge Church Building Fund, 25 Middletown Road, White Hall, WV 26554.
