Kathy M. Chontos

KATHY M. CHONTOS, 62, of Ellwood City (Wurtemburg, Perry Twp.) passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday morning, July 8 2012.

She was born in Ellwood City on December 4 1949 to the late Harold J. Cochran and the late Velma A. Seitz Cochran Kroll.
She was a 1967 graduate of Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, and St. Francis Hospital School of Radiology in New Castle.
She worked as an X-ray technician at the Ellwood City Hospital for over 15 years, then for several mobile X-ray companies before retiring in 2002.
Presbyterian by faith, she loved flowers and gardening, as well as crafts. An avid reader, Kathy also enjoyed camping and the outdoors. She loved animals.

Kathy and her husband, Edward J. Chontos, had just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on June 24. He survives at home.
She is also survived by one son, Brian J. Chontos, (and Kristi Fisher) of Portersville; and by a grandson, Connor Chontos, and a granddaughter, Taylor Chontos.
Kathy is also survived by one brother, William H. Cochran of Sedalia, CO; and two sisters: Connie (and Fred) Williams of Mt. Airy MD; and Sharon L. (and Bill) Theologus of Columbia MD.

No public visitation is planned.
A private Memorial Service is planned later this week at the TURNER FUNERAL HOME OF ELLWOOD CITY. All arrangements are entrusted to TURNERS.
