Myrna L. Wallace

Myrna L. Wallace, 70, of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday morning, September 9, 2012 at her daughter’s residence in Frisco following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Ellwood City on June 7, 1942 to the late Clifford E. Miller and Dorothy Kimmich Miller. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Ellwood City and studied at Westminster College in New Wilmington. For many years, she was a fixture at the former Pe’Wee’s Lunch on Lawrence Avenue and later owned and operated her own diner, Myrna’s Nook, in the City Centre Emporium. She was also a volunteer coach for the Ellwood City Lil’ Angels Softball League.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin E. “Ted” Wallace on March 12, 2001. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Heather Jo Wallace in infancy, and Kelly Rae Wallace on January 24, 2009.

She is survived by two daughters, Mandy Stocker and Nikki Wallace, both of Ellwood City. She is also survived by five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and her sister, Trudy (and David) Boots of Ellwood City.

Friends will be received from 6 P.M. until the time of service at 8 P.M. on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue, with Rev. Elizabeth Wallace, pastor of Knox Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, North Sewickley Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to a fund in her name being set up for her grandchildren.
