Audrey E. Waterfield

Mrs. Audrey E. Waterfield, 70, of 1048 Joffre Avenue Ext., Ellwood City, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday morning, June 8 2009 in Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, after an extended illness.

She was born in Ellwood City on June 29 1938 to the late Audley W. Steele and the late May B. Wallace Steele.

She was a graduate of Lincoln High School, class of 1957, and was a member of Wayne Twp. Fire Dept. Auxiliary.

She had worked at the Ellwood Knitting Mills, MSA (Wampum Mines), and later at ALSY Corp.

She was affiliated with the Ellwood Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, and was a member of Ellwood City Youth for Christ. She enjoyed camping, bingo, and her family.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Chalmer J. Waterfield, who died July 1 1990. They were married on August 29 1964.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, and one daughter and son-in-law: David Lee (and Lisa) Waterfield of Portersville PA ; Brian Shawn Waterfield; and Linda S. (and Steve ) Squires, all of Ellwood City .

Four grandchildren survive: Charles J. Walls, Kendall Waterfield, Susan E. Squires, and Steve A. Squires Jr.

She is also survived by one sister: Zelda M. Duke of Ellwood City; and a brother-in-law, Lawrence Waterfield of New Brighton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Wednesday, June 10 2009 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME OF ELLWOOD CITY, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.

Services will be conducted at TURNERS on Thursday, June 11 at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. James Hockenberry, pastor of Harmony Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park, Cranberry Twp. Memorials may be made in her name to the Ellwood City Area Public Library.
