Shirley M. Haswell

Shirley M. Haswell, 89, of Conway, formerly of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, March 5, 2013 at her residence.

She was born in Ellwood City on October 2, 1923 to the late Perry L. McClintock and the late Letha B. Hummel McClintock. She graduated from Lincoln High School in the January class of 1941 and attended Bell Memorial Presbyterian Church. She worked as a millworker at J&L Steel, a waitress at the Holiday Inn, and later as an administrative assistant until retiring. She enjoyed visiting and playing bingo at the clubs in Ellwood and was a member of the Ellwood City Eagles #1246 and the Polish National Alliance.

She was preceded in death by Mervin D. Haswell, Sr.

She is survived by her daughter and two sons: Shileen R. Haswell (and Bruce Harris) of New Castle, Mervin D. (and Suzanne) Haswell, Jr. of Monaca, and Rodney W. (and Amelia) Haswell of New Castle. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Patrick, Desiree, Alex, and Brandon Haswell (and Deanna Ey), Shauna Jordan, and Rhonda Brunswick; 16 great grandchildren: Ciara Jordan, Morgan Horton, Mariah Byers, Jacquelyn, Tiffeny, Tyler, and Jensen Lewis, Jordan, Bobbie Lynn, and Robert Brunswick, and Jaiden, Justic Rose, Amber, Lacey, Michael, and Alivia Haswell; as well as one great great grandchild, Vinny Hearth..

Per Shirley’s wishes, no public visitation is planned. Arrangements have been entrusted to the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.
