Thelma R. Forbush Krepps

Thelma R. Forbush Krepps, 85, of Ellwood City (North Sewickley Township), passed away peacefully on Monday morning, July 8, 2013 in the Evergreen Nursing Center in Harmony.

She was born in York, PA on May 6, 1928 to the late Arthur Norman Forbush and the late Mary C. Sowers Forbush.

She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and was a longtime member of Providence Baptist Church. With her husband, John, she founded the J&T Custard Stand on Mercer Road in North Sewickley in 1949. It is now run by her son and daughter-in-law, DeWitt and Donna. Her father and brother founded the Forbush Drive-In in 1950. It is now run by her grandson, J.D. Krepps.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Krepps Sr., who died on April 19, 2013. They were married on April 9, 1948. She was also preceded by a daughter, Gail Ann Krepps, on May 6, 1977, and her granddaughter-in-law, Jill Body Krepps, on December 9, 2009. She was also preceded by her brother, Gordon H. Forbush and sister, Mary Ellen Kistner.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, J. DeWitt (and Donna) Krepps of North Sewickley; and by two grandchildren: J.D. Krepps, III of Shenango Township and Amy Krepps Frederiksen of Eden Prairie, MN; and by two great grandchildren: Owen DeWitt Krepps and Petra E. Frederiksen. She is also survived by her brother, Chauncey J. (and Ella Mae) Forbush of Shenango Township.

Friends will be received from 6-8 P.M. on Thursday, July 11, 2013 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.

Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 12, 2013 at TURNER’S, with the Rev. Calvin Cummings, interim pastor of Providence Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in North Sewickley Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her name to Providence Baptist Church, 201 Chapel Drive, Ellwood City, PA 16117 or to the American Bible Society.
