Theodore James Kane

Theodore James Kane, 88, of 901 Old Ash Road, Grove City, formerly of Ellwood City, died at his residence on Thursday morning, July 16, 2009.

He was born in Zelienople on November 10, 1920 to the late William J. Kane and the late Lillian Miller Kane.

Theodore married the late Effie Mae Knight Kane on November 29, 1942. She died April 1, 1990. He served in the South Pacific in the U.S. Army during WWII and retired from the B&O Railroad after 30 years of service in July 1983, where he had worked as a trackman.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters: William Kane, Jesse Kane, Alfred Kane, Violet Schaffer, and Josephine Davis.

He is survived by a son, Teddy L. (and Susan) Kane, with whom he resided; and a daughter, Donna Jean (and William) Kelley, of Beaver Falls. Five grandchildren, Belinda Jean Kane, David Lee Kane, Brandy Napoli, Michael Kelley, and Christina Bernardi; as well as nine great grandchildren also survive.

Theodore is also survived by a brother, Cecil Kane, of Portersville. Friends will be received from 6-9 P.M. on Friday, July 17, 2009 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.

Services will be conducted on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 12:00 noon at TURNER’S with Rev. Dr. Angel DeLaCruz, pastor of Word Centered Fellowship, officiating.

Private interment will follow in Concord United Methodist Cemetery, North Sewickley Township.
