Mary Mae Fennick

Mary Mae Fennick, 100, of the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople, formerly of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon, October 31, 2013 at the Passavant.

Mrs. Fennick was born in Ellwood City on September 3, 1913 to the late Albert Price and the late Ruth Biggins Price. She graduated from Lincoln High School in the class of 1930 and retired from Aetna Standard Engineering where she was head of the billing department. She was a member of Park Gate Baptist Church, past president of the Charlie’s Angels Dance Club in New Brighton, past president of the Ellwood City Business and Professional Women’s Club, and past Worthy Matron of the Ellwood City Chapter #212 of the Order of the Eastern Star.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 54 years, Russell Fennick, whom she married on February 14, 1934 and who passed away on January 26, 1988. She was also preceded by two brothers, Emery and Paul Price.

Mrs. Fennick is survived by her son, Karel (and Ruth) Fennick of Streator, IL; two granddaughters, Debbie (and Mike) Fennick Cicciarelli of West Palm Beach, FL and Karla (and Gary Heisserer) Fennick of Kansas City, MO; two great granddaughters, Nicole (and Robby) Cicciarelli Grochmal and Jenny Cicciarelli, all of West Palm Beach, FL; as well as two great great grandsons, Chance and Colton Grochmal. She is also survived by her sister and two brothers, Shirley Price Shingleton of Ellwood City, Kenneth Price of Riverside, CA, and Jerry (and Lee) Price of Pittsburgh.

Friends will be received from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M. on Monday, November 4, 2013 at Park Gate Baptist Church, 2840 River Road, Ellwood City, PA 16117, with Rev. David Childs, her pastor, officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.

Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, North Sewickley Township.
