Mary M. Crans

Mary M. Crans, 79, of Hardyville, Franklin Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, November 7, 2013 at the Evergreen Nursing Center in Harmony.

She was born in Frisco, Franklin Township on May 28, 1934 to the late Charles C. Hardy and the late Minnie TerLinden Hardy. She graduated from Lincoln High School and worked as a lab technician at the Ellwood City Hospital for 42 years. She married her late husband of 34 years, Richard L. Crans, on February 5, 1960. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1994. Mary was an active member of Lillyville Church of God for 62 years, where she had served as superintendant of Sunday School. She enjoyed bowling and reading.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her nephew, Mark A. Crespo, who died in 1982. She is survived by her sister, Shirley E. Crespo, of Ellwood City, and her nephew, Jeffrey (and Sonni Rae) Crespo, also of Ellwood City. She is also survived by two great nieces and a great nephew: Chelsey, Justise, and Dakota Crespo.

Friends will be received from 1-3 and from 5 P.M. until the time of service at 7 P.M. on Sunday, November 10, 2013 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue with Rev. Dennis Arndt, her pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. Stephen Show.

Interment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Inc., Rochester. Memorial contributions may be made, in Mary’s name, to the Lillyville Church of God, 408 Hickernell Road, Ellwood City, PA 16117, or the American Cancer Society.
