Dorothy M. "Dot" Lintz

Dorothy M. “Dot” Lintz, 89, of North Sewickley Township, Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, December 5, 2013 in the Ellwood City Hospital.

She was born in Wampum on October 25, 1924 to the late John Albert Sumner and the late Bertha Smith Sumner.

Dorothy graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City in 1943. Along with her husband, she ran the family businesses: Lintz Construction and Stallion Hill Western Store. She enjoyed caring for her Appaloosa horses and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Edward Lintz. She is also survived by two daughters, Debbie (and Ronald) Montgomery of Wampum and Gail (and Dan) Lemmon of Grafton, OH.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Terry Lee Lintz, in infancy. The last of her family, Dorothy was also preceded in death by two sisters, Elta M. Weil in 2006 and Mary Jane Nippert in 1985, and two brothers, J. Albert Sumner in 2002 and Harry Sumner in 1999.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Sunday, December 8, 2013 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.

Services will be conducted at 11 A.M. on Monday, December 9, 2013 at TURNER’S, with the Rev. Ron Nagel of New Life Baptist Church in New Wilmington, officiating.

Interment will be in Clinton Cemetery, Wampum.
