M. Darlene McFate Kline

M. Darlene McFate Kline, 83, of Ellwood City, passed away on Monday morning, May 19 2014 at the Ellwood City Hospital after an extended illness. She was born in Wampum on October 1 1930 to the late Charles Leslie (Les)

and Mary Rose Cook McFate. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, class of 1948, where she was class treasurer.

She married the late Bernard S. (Bucky) Kline on April 18 1954. Together, they hand-built their spectacular five story Wayne Avenue home. He died on February 15 2001.

Darlene enjoyed designing and stitching needlecraft, and traveling across the USA and Mexico. On one trip, she befriended Harry Webb, of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show and inductee of the Cowboy Hall of Fame.

She worked as a certified podiatric assistant to Dr. Allen Struble, and was an office assistant to Anthony Lucarelli, CPA.
She was a longtime member and elder at Christ Presbyterian Church in Ellwood City.

Active in the community, she served on her class reunion committee, was a member of Business and Professional Womens Club, AARP, and was a 25 year volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She was truly loved by all who knew her.

She is survived by two sons, Barry Kline (and Judith Shega) of Cleveland OH; and Mark Kline of Winchester VA.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her aunt and close friend. Jennie Richards.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday, May 21, in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME OF ELLWOOD CITY, 500 Sixth Street, Ellwood City.

Services will be conducted on Thursday, May 22, at 10 A.M. at Christ Presbyterian Church in Ellwood City, with Rev. R. Tod Custer, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Clinton Cemetery, New Beaver Boro.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Christ Presbyterian Church Elevator Fund.
