Judy Jean Hardisky

Judy Jean Hardisky, 73, of New Castle, formerly of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday morning, November 25, 2014 following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Ellwood City on February 19, 1941 to the late Joseph Gibbons and the late Mabel Lutz Gibbons. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Ellwood City and married her late husband of 40 years, Edward E. Hardisky, on August 22, 1958. He preceded her in death on March 19, 1999. Judy drove school bus for Zona Tours for many years until retiring and was a member of the former St. Agatha Church, now Holy Redeemer.

The last of her family, Judy was preceded in death, in addition to her parents and husband, by two sisters, Irene Hulick and Donna Carr, and a brother in infancy.

She is survived by her daughter, Katrina Jo (and Jason) DeRuyter of New Castle. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Thomas Edward and Heather Jean Morida, and a great granddaughter, Kayleigh Butera, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 6 P.M. until the time of a Blessing Service at 8 P.M. on Saturday, November 29, 2014 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue, with Rev. Fr. Okechukwu Camillus Njoku, parochial vicar of Holy Redeemer Parish, officiating.

Interment will be in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, North Sewickley Township.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Judy’s name, to the American Lung Association.
