Lena Shannon

Lena Shannon, 86, formerly of Ellwood City, was ushered up into the presence of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday evening, January 3, 2015 at Countryview Living Center in Lore City, OH after a long bout with dementia.

Lena was born on April 3, 1928 in Ellwood City to the late Giuseppe and Adele Notari Baldelli. Before her illness, she loved going to church and meeting with the Ladies’ Prayer Group. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends and the staff at Countryview Living Center where she resided.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Shannon, her brother, William Baldelli, and her sister, Lunda Minett.

Lena is survived by her son, Dennis (and Monica) Shannon of Cambridge, OH, as well as her brother, David (and Lenorie) Baldelli of Arlington, TX; two granddaughters: Ashli (and Neal) Hausch of Akron, OH and Jordin Shannon of San Diego, CA; and three great grandsons: Evan, Konnor, and Grayson Hausch. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, and several precious friends.

Friends will be received from 5-8 P.M. on Thursday, January 8, 2014 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.

Services will be conducted at 11 A.M. on Friday, January 9, 2014 at the Lighthouse Assembly of God, 527 North Street, Ellwood City, PA 16117 with Rev. Carmen Venezie, family friend, officiating.
