Daniel N. Schweikert

Daniel N. Schweikert, 76, of Shenango Township, New Castle, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Sept. 13 2015 at home.
He was born in New Castle on September 22 1938, to the late Norman and Marie Suzow Schweikert.

Dan graduated from Shenango High School in 1957, and was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.

A mechanic for over 50 years, he owned Schweikert’s Automotive in New Castle. His customers always came first with Dan.

Dan was considered an expert on World War II history, and collected model planes of the era.
He loved the outdoors, antique cars, hunting and fishing, woodcrafts, and NASCAR. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy J. Strohecker Schweikert, and they recently celebrated 49 years of marriage.

He is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law: D’Nel (and Travis) Moser of East Canton Ohio.

One sister, Joan Gibson, of Wampum, also survives as well as his tabby cat, Carmel.

There will be no public visitation or services at his request. Donations may be made to the donors’ favorite charity.

Turner Funeral Homes, 500 6th Street, Ellwood City, is entrusted with arrangements.
