Ethel Mae "Baba" Tritt Murdock

Ethel Mae “Baba” Tritt Murdock, 98, of 324 Aiken Road, New Castle, formerly of Koppel and Ellwood City, went to be with her Lord at 6:00 PM on Saturday April 3, 2010 in Jameson Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Ellwood City on November 12, 1911 to the late Joseph C. Tritt and the late Clara M. Ferree Tritt.

She had worked at the Knitting Mill in Ellwood City as a Mender until her retirement. Ethel was also the owner and operator of ‘Ethel’s Diner’ in Koppel. She was a lifelong member at Park Gate Baptist Church.

Besides raising houseplants she enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting and also spent many enjoyable hours reading.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands: Joseph Rockyvich, William “Bill” Miller and Mike Murdock. She was also preceded by two brothers: Ervin H. and David E. Tritt, two sisters: Emma C. and Edna M. Tritt, two step-brothers: Emmett A. and Norman L. Lutz, a step-brother-in-law, Curtis “Grub” Shoaf, and a grandson, Joseph Rockyvich.

She is survived by a son, Joseph Rockyvich, a granddaughter Cindy Janacone, two great grandsons, James J. and Nicholas Janacone, and a step-sister Maude V. Shoaf.

She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 P.M. on Monday, April 5, 2010 at the TURNER FUNERAL HOME OF ELLWOOD CITY, Sixth Street at Park Avenue, and also from 11 A.M. until the time of Funeral Service at 12 Noon on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at TURNERS with Pastor David Childs, of Park Gate Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester, PA. Memorial Contributions may be made, in her name, to the Park Gate Baptist Church, P.O. Box 107, 2840 River Road, Ellwood City, PA 16117.
