Barbara J. Scheidemantle

Barbara Joanna Scheidemantle, 88, of Ellwood City passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at UPMC Jameson, in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Anna Weisz Boak and was born June 21, 1935 in New New Castle.

She was survived by her two sons; Arthur M. Shidemantle of New Brighton and Timothy Shidemantle of Ellwood City, a stepson; Martin Scheidemantle, stepdaughter; Cindy Giles, granddaughters; Christene Haney, Kristen Shidemantle and Stacey Grenet, and 3 great-grandchildren.

She was a 1953 graduate of Princeton High School. She loved to quilt, sew, crochet, visit garage sales and she loved flea markets and could make a “Deal on the Spot”. She loved her flowers, watching the squirrels, and enjoying nature.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Arthur M. Shidemantle, in 1961, and her second husband Laverne Scheidemantle, one son Bruce Shidemantle; her brothers; James Boak, Clair Boak, one sister; Wilberta Boak Houk, many nieces, nephews, and many cousins to remember her fondly.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Interment will be in Portersville Presbyterian Cemetery.
