Beverly Ann Craven Cole, 80, of Cantonment, FL formerly of Ellwood City, passed away, peacefully, November 14, 2022, at The Beacon Memory Care in Gulf Breeze, Florida. Beverly was the daughter of the late Chester and Dorothy E. Bruehl Craven and was born May 31, 1942, in Ellwood City. Beverly was also preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Delores J. Owen; a brother, Mr. William C. Craven; two nieces, Sherri Craven and Cynthia Craven; and two nephews, Randy Craven and Bobby Craven. Beverly was a member of The First Christian Church congregation for many years.
She is survived by her two daughters: Lori L. Cole of Cranberry Township, PA, Lynn A. Cole of Cantonment, Florida, a brother, Robert Craven (Carolyn) of Ellwood City, and a total of four nieces and nephews.
A 1960 graduate of Lincoln High School, Beverly cherished her time as a majorette of the Lincoln High School Marching Band, and as a ensemble member of the LHS Choral Program. As a child, Beverly took piano and dance lessons, both of which left indelible memories and a established a life-long love of music. Elvis Presley and Neil Diamond were Beverly's favorite musicians. Beverly married Loren L. Cole in California in June of 1959 while he was enlisted in the United States Navy. They remained married for 15 years and had two children, Lori, and Lynn. During the 1980's, Beverly discovered the support group, Al-Anon. Her involvement in Al-Anon lasted for more than 40 years and positively impacted her life in several ways. Beverly forged lifelong friendships within Al-Anon that sustained and guided her through life's most difficult periods. She served as an Al-Anon Group Representative and loved annual weekends away at Cook's Forest. Her friends in the group will remember Beverly for her love of animals, her smile, laughter, compassion, and her tenacity. She held a number of jobs throughout her life including: secretary for Damascus Steel in New Brighton, Sales Associate at Walmart, an employee for the Ellwood City Borough, and Childcare worker at the New Brighton YMCA. Beverly adored animals throughout her life including her pet cockatiel, Charlie. She was proud to have lived in the Pittsburgh Area most of her life and was an enthusiastic fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Beverly accompanied her daughter, Lynn to several Steeler's games at Heinz Field over the years and loved spending time at the beach with her in Pensacola, Florida. Beverly attended almost every choral program and musical production during her daughter Lori's teaching career. She especially relished reminiscing about her family, her childhood, her friendships, and her experiences growing up in Frisco.
A Celebration of the Life of Beverly Craven Cole's will be held Saturday, December 10 from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Turner Funeral Home with a Memorial Service immediately following with Mr. Noah Kastroll officiating.
