James “Jim” H. Whitlatch

April 17, 1944 — September 9, 2023

James “Jim” H. Whitlatch, 79, of Fombell passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at his home. He was the son of the late William and Hilda (Blinn) Whitlatch and he was born April 17, 1944 in Ellwood City.


He was a 1962 graduate of Lincoln High School. He met and married Karen Waterfield, the love of his life, on March 15, 1964. He spent his career at B&W and and he worked there and retired after 30 years of employment. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He and his wife had three daughters.


He is survived by his daughters; Barbara and her husband Todd Hessler of Ellwood City, Sandra Matiko of Ellwood City, Diane Parish and Ken Grossen of East Palestine, OH, his grandchildren; Brandon (Jennifer) Whitlatch, Ryan (Giovanna Greco) Hessler, Justin (Jennifer) Parish, Jordan (Katarina Garren) Matiko, Abbey (Jakob Turley) Matiko, Christian (Chelsea Bailes) Hessler, Courtney (Cody Kidd) Parish, Derrick Grossen, great-grandchildren; Jack, Layla and Paisley Parish, Chloe and Lorelei Whitlatch, Weston and Stetson Kidd, Maxton Keller, his siblings; William Whitlatch of Kennerdale, Thomas Whitlatch of Ellwood City, Linda Daufen and her husband Ralph of Fombell, Dennis Whitlatch and his wife Brenda of Ellwood City and his sister-in-law; Shirley Whitlatch of Ellwood City.


He was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law; Edgar and Harriet Waterfield, his brother; David Whitlatch, his son-in-law; Mark Matiko and his sister-in-law’s; JoEllen Whitlatch and Venza Whitlatch.


At Jim’s request his services will be private.


Interment will be in Pinewood Memorial Park in Cranberry Twp.


The family wishes to thank Good Samaritan Hospice for their excellent Care and Compassion.


Arrangements entrusted to The TURNER FUNERAL SERVICES & CREMATION located at 6th and Park in Ellwood City.
