Joseph E. Haybarger

Joseph E. Haybarger, 96, of New Castle, passed away peacefully on Thursday April 5 2018 at UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle. He was born in New Castle on May 30 1921 to the late David Hayarger and the late Clarabelle Musser Haybarger. Joseph attended New Castle schools, and worked for many years at Sharon Steel Corporation, as a remote control engine operator. Joe was a highly decorated veteran of the US Army, serving in the 409th Anti-Aircraft Battalion during World War II in the North Africa campaign, as well as the invasion of Italy, and the Rhineland. For his service and bravery, he was awarded 4 bronze stars. He was preceded in death by his late wife, Phyllis Stone Haybarger. There will be no public visitation, and according to Joseph"s wishes, memorial services are private. TURNER FUNERAL HOMES was entrusted with arrangements.
